India fights back !!!!!

For the past one week my country has been abuzz with the turmoil , in the form of mumbai bomb blasts. The impunity with which the terrorists could strike at the very heart of India , its financial capital and go away scot free( at least till now) is something which should be a matter of shame for us. According to official sources ,more then 240 have been feared dead , a equally large number to be wounded. The real figure could be higher then these. Help and solidarity poured in from all corners of the city as well as country in this issue of grave national concern. Indians on the whole showed the world , that they might be having differences on the basis of religion , region , caste , creed but when some calamity ;both natural or non natural ; befells them then they unite under one class i.e. INDIAN. The picture of commoners helping the bomb blast victims at the site made for inspiring stories which was also given its due coverage by the media. But looking back at these blasts , one feels that our past governments have been missing the big picture.

After these bomb blasts leaders from all parts of the country poured in to the metropolis to pay their homages to the victims of the bomb blasts. They made rhetoric speeches full of fiery words. But do these words ever translate into action. It is an open secret that our neighbouring country has been sponsoring terrorist attacks on our country in the name of religion. They have been brainwashing people , training them in the ways of modern terrorism , supplying them with arms and ammunition and infiltrating them back to India to carry out their dastardly attacks.

To add salt to injury , the media and political big-wigs are praising the "spirit of Mumbai " for coming back up and making things back to normal from next day onwards. This so called spirit is more out of necessity.Living in Mumbai is so costly that if one skips work for one day or doesnt earn for one day , then his monthly finances can go haywire. To praise these acts of desperation for survival as spirit shows the indifference and callousness of the leadership.

History teaches us that for any country to be great , it has to be in such a postion as to avoke feeling of fear , awe and respect in the eyes of other countries. Great civilizations like Mesopotamian,Roman , Greek , Chinese and in recent modern times the Union Jack and in the current world order , America are a few good examples.India if if wishes to achieve its rightful place in the world order , will have to flex its muscles. We have great industries , record agricultural production , technical manpower unmatched in the world , second largest army in the world.

In view of the above achievements , WHY ARE WE AFRAID TO TAKE UP TOUGH STANDS ?

If small nations like Israel , can take up on the collective might of the Arab nations and be more then a match for them , then what stops us from barging into PoK which anyways belongs to us and destroying the Pakistanin terrorist camps ?

What stops us from standing firm on the international meets like UN meeting and saying out aloud that although India is a peace loving nation , but it wont take up any attack on its property or people lightly and will go to any lengths to punish the errant groups / nation ?

What stops us from giving each of our citizens life its due value ?Had the same incident happened in America , they would have declared a war on terrorism and gone to any lengths to punish the wrong doers as they did recently for the 9/11 tragedy.

Its only strong action like this which increase a nations respect in the eyes of international fraternity. In the words of the famous American President Ulysses S Grant "I have never advocated war except as a means of peace " ,sometimes it becomes necessary to go to war to have peace.Strange as it may sound but it is true.

As a self respect loving nation , the government should have vowed to destroy terrorist camps in PoK and kill 400 terrorists to avenge this bloody act , instead , they are organizing peace rallies. What a shame, that the entire government machinery has become so spineless.Gone are the days of Gandhiji when peace and non violence could solve all the problems .In todays times, India cannot afford to make any more sacrifices be it of man or resources because of its soft stand .If India wants to get its rightful place in the world order, it will have to earn it.For long we have been tagged as "push overs" , its time we showed the world that we have the guts and tenacity to fight against any malevolent power which dares to have evil intentions for our mother land.

Of course this is not an easy way.Sacrifices will have to be made, hardships might have to be faced by the citizens. But every greatness has a price and we should be ready to pay for it if we want to give our future generations a nation where in the words of Late Guru Rabindra Nath Tagore

" Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high

Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake "

Easy Riders ( with due apologies to jack nicholson,Peter Fonda )

Hi ,

Its been long since I wrote something.Well to think of it , what could I have written , nothing right was goin in life - the music amplifiers which I had got were really buggin me, my mobile was / is out of order and this is just material loss and I have not even started personal setbacks. So to literally run away from these worries,I decided to chill out one weekend.

1 April , normally the day when ppl try to be on guard from others and their jokes and mischiefs. But not me , I was myself being joked upon by lady luck with all sorts of problems befelling me at the same time.Well without carping on philosophical aspects of life , at around 11:30 am , I got a call from head quarter( my dad :D ) saying or rather ordering " beta , you have to go to agra , there is some family function of close relative and as we cant go then you please go on our behalf" .Think of it, ain`t it silly , that you cant go and I proxy on your behalf. And this is the same establishment which frowns upon us when we do proxy attendance for our classmates.Crumbs !!!! Grown ups , you can never understand that.
Those of you, who have lived in delhi can very well understand the weather at around April. On books its spring , but once you get down to brasstacks , its summer nonetheless. But it was useless arguing , becoz what he had passed was not an suggestion but an ORDER.So with a frown on my face , I was pondering over how to go about doing that and cursing on my position in the family( whenever there is some help required , I am grown up and whenever some unpleasant decision to be taken I am made out to be Kid ) .Infact , so much so that sometimes in a single day , I have oscillated between being kid and adult as much as 5-6 times. But thats different story altogether.
All of a sudden my frnd suggested that why not go on our bikes as Agra is just 200 km and the roads are superb. That idea rang a bell in my mind.Bike + agra = adventure.I instantly said yes .Mebbe he meant his comment to be innocuous and taken in lighter vein. But it struck me.I said ok vikram in that case you are coming with me.He was taken aback and tried to ward me off but it was too late .Now it was my chance to pass ORDERS.
Well after much persuasion , pampering , admonishing at 4:30 pm we were standing next to our bikes in the basement of the apartments with the bag , helmets and all jet set ready to go like some rebels.

The drive till faridabad was quite humdrum with the chaotic traffic of Badarpur border adding to our cup of miseries. We were beginning to get apprehensive that mebbe the bike trip was not such a good idea after all.But all our fears turned out to be confounded , once we crossed faridabab border.
Before I proceed further , lemme tell you delhi - agra taj expressway is india second best highway ( after mumbai-pune expressway) with 4 lanes road all through and the road as well maintained and smooth as say cheeks of aishwarya ;) .Hope you all wud have got the idea by now.
Coming back to the adventures of the "Easy Riders" , the moment we crossed city limits of faridabad, my roomy got excited on seeing the clean and wide roads and stepped on the gas.It was only a matter of 5-10 secs and the pulsar 180 reached 100kph .This magical figure was enuff to give me a HIGH.We raced on for close to 1 hr.Then thought of giving the bike a stop ( it was more of our hunger then bike`s need) so we stopped at a very famous dhaba on the way( the advantage of mine having lived in agra). The dhaba food made us forget noida/delhi and their restaurants.Paranthes , with dollops of butter with aroma enough to put you in trance... muaaaaaah.... had load fill of paranthas
After filling our fuel tank , we set out to agra and reached there by 9:00 pm.Not bad considering that we had night driving plus stopover for food.Already I was beginning to feel good , after all agra used to be my city.Hari parvat with its book stalls with cheap novels, pratapura with its tasty kachoris, sadar bajaar with its share of eye candies this used to be my playground :D..
We checked in our hotel and went to bed , congratulating each other on our successfull road trip and feeling all freshend up.
Next day we set out for a excursion of the Agra but that would be in a different blog :)

waiting for ur comments

PS :- Incidentally the photo of taj has been clicked by me :)

Lawrence of Arabia.. a magnum opus

hi

saw lawrence of arabia , a couple of days back.. As such the story is not that novel or you would say out of the box but there is something about the movie which has captivated me.

The harsh desert setting of Sahara contrasting with blue eyed Peter O Toole, his mental turmoil and the focussing on ethics inspite of the fact that the ppl he is fighting with and fighting against have scant regards for tat E word, his metamorphosis into the very characteristic of mankind he hated in view of the surrounding he was in .

To appreciate a classic like that one has to go out of the ordinary , the visuals , the audios and begin to see them in totality , only then would you be able to feel the pulse of the director and see the emotions he is trying to portray thru the elements of movie making.

Modern day Woo`s , spielbergs learn something from the masters. You have all the sophisticated gadgets still your movies dont have recall value but for these classics , a novice in movie watching like me seeing after some 30 odd yrs of their release was spell bound .

Corporate Mahabharat !!!

hi first of all sorry for not updating my space frequently .But then I used to be involved in my office work quite passionately ( ok ok not tat passionately but atleast used to work whenever it used to come forgetting everything else ;) )..

Life is like a box of chocolates , you never what you gonna get..tat one fits me like a shoe.

Only 3 yrs back , I was at the fuckin top of the hill when I had got one of the sought after jobs in campus. But now as I look back I m hell down in deep shit , in a technology which is as antediluvian as the vaccum tube diodes . But then as in game of monoply , we cant make all the choices so is the case with life.It makes hell lot of choices for you and sometimes what may seem a good choice at shortsight might be something bad for long run and vice versa.

Well to cut a long story short, my company decided that mebbe I was not doin work in India so if they could send me to onsite and somehow impress upon me that I am goin to client site , I might straighten up my act and by jovi they were rite ;) ...
I did straighten up my act and was working with full earnest.although the work was shitty and was in no way going to help me in my technical growth.
Basically I was sent to do a technical feasibility analysis of a new system the client had planned to introduce , so that they could save money on their IT processes and I was sent as I was thought to be quite well versed in the old technology and the way to interface it with new technology which they were plannin to implement.

We did coding, testing , running long lengthy test cycles and guess what when I was at a stage when the new system was becoming stable, I was moved out of the team.I dont know what intrigues went in the background but one thing is for sure

Life has again made a set of choices for me and they better be good this time ...

Master piece movies !!!

hi fnrds,

recently I came across a golden chance to see old movies , old in the sense movies which defined the way ppl perceived cinema , which changed the way movies were shot , stories were told. And to tell you quite frankly , I was damm impressed .I had seen these movies in my school days but then those were the days I used to look forward to the fight scenes / ghost appearances/wonderful gadgets /animals playin :D . But at the 25yr of my life , I guess I had outgrown those trivialities and realized that the way the old geniuses used to say a story with no help from computers and modern day gadgetry was out of this world. To think what greater heights they would have achieved had they got access to todays modern day marvels..But then the stories would have lost their emotional raw appeal .

The movie I am goin to speak abt is Psycho a masterpiece by alfred hitchcock which to date inspires various rip offs.

It is a story of a man , a very sad lonely man called Norman Bates ; a gal , a very emotional and neck deep in gal marion and the tragedy which befells her.
She works in a real estate agent`s office as a clerk and one day when she is given some official money to deposit at the bank , she takes off with it in the hope that mebbe she and her bf can have better life with it.But little did she know what lady luck had in store for her.

Just before reaching the home city of her bf , she pulls over into a motel owned by norman bates , a very pleasant man with sudden mood swings but on the whole quite agreeable. What happens next is something which only hitchcock could describe with the minimum use of resources ..

you gotta watch this one folks and yes , like all typical hitchcock movies u better watch it from scene 1 till last scene without any break.

Frnd vs girlfrnd

Frnd or girl frnd
hiya frnds a rather controversial topic and least of all from a person who has no experience of the girl frnd angle ... :D
But after seein my frnds life , I thought not why not give this point an analytical look , somewhat of an engineers look... :)
come the age of 17,18,19... and a person start seeking companionship of opposite sex ( allrite allrite I admit the age is slightly on the higher side considering today`s scenario but lets just take that as an example.. ) , he starts caring for his appearance ( sic) , starts roaming around girls colleges ( another major area of wastage of the scarce thing called PETROL ) , buyin designer clothes ( when simple sarojini nagar/fashion street wud suffice ) ... In short he becomes the "METROSEXUAL " ( I hate that term ) . After all these frivolities if GOD forbid one makes a gf then he had it .......Now comes the major churning in his life ...
1) He has to laugh on veg jokes ( believe me its very difficult to do tha once you have passed college )
2) Remember bdays of girlfrnd, her parents, her sis/bro , her frnds so much so even her pets.... :(
3) Go out for mushy romantic movies and forego movies like barbwire ..This one doesn`t stop here you are also supposed to cry at the parting scene ...
4) Spend wat ever pittiance you earn in the name of salary on their dresses / make up or wat not.....
5)CANNOT ABUSE IN PUBLIC ... have to contend with saying gadha , idiot, saala ( this one is the limit you can go to ...anything beyond this and you are treading on dangerous waters.
6) Cant relish food in your local Kakke Da Dhaba . Have to bear up with Ruby tuesday/ geofreyys

aur bhi bahut saare characteristics hai ...rest in next... :)

Angels and Demons

Yet another master piece from D B. The story setting is similar to that of Da Vinci Code with Occult groups being the Prime focus. In Da Vinci code it was Priori of Scion so here it is ILLUMINATI.But there is a difference in this novel. It is a gud mix and mash between religion ,philosophy and science. While the novel dwells on the origin of mankind at one end,it also touches the question of Renaissance time in Europe when Church was at its evil best.TO spice up the novel there is scinetific twist with the bomb being a tiny droplet of Anti matter looking very innocous but strong enough to destroy the whole Vatican...Saying anything more would be spoilin the suspense...

A MUST READ
